Thought that I'd been more careful it setting the parameters, but recently discovered that I had a multi-session CD-R that could not be added-to, deleted-from, or erased; but it had data on it that I did not want to fall into anyone's hands. I considered several methods, but the most convenient one was bending it into a u-shape like a taco shell.
After some little bit of effort, it seemed to sorta
       EXPLODE
and sent shards and flecks everywhere; left my hands looking like I had just finished a glittering crafts project. Will definitely use another method next time, e.g., tin shears.

The Downey icon originally known as Harvey's Broiler eventually became Johnie's Broiler. As I recall, when it last served food, it had a "C" rating from the County Health inspectors. Additional Downey item: the house on the n.e.corner of Downey and Gallatin (3br 2ba 1300 sqft 1948) is being demolished. Likely it will be replaced by a new 2-story MANSION; whether it will conform to the new more-restrictive rules on size and setback, depends on when it building permit was granted.
